This coaster has a ceramic base and is sealed with Brite Tone made by CrystalLaq. Brite Tone is a non-toxic water based high solids polyurethane product that contains no harsh chemicals or solvents. After 30 days, Brite Tone cures to a super-hard, scratch-resistant, clear finish. It can sustain heat up to 325 degrees but is not recommended to hold objects immediately after oven removal.
