Channeling Wyeth: 8x10 Pastel Landscape Print - Bright Blue Sky, Yellow House, Tree, Chickens, Country Art, New England Homestead Painting

Product Description

This is a fine art print of my pastel painting, Channeling Wyeth. As an experiment in creating my own compositions, I used my image of the house at the [Nature] Reserve at Laudholm Farm in Wells, Maine as my main reference, mirrored the image, and added some blueberry fields from my grandparents' central NH property to the hillside. Finally, some chickens in the foreground made the image feel complete. Why the title "Channeling Wyeth"? Well, I was in my senior year of art school when I painted this, and my thesis advisor suggested that I was channeling Andrew Wyeth in this composition- specifically looking at the chickens slowly ascending a hill, like the woman in "Christina's World." I had visited the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, Maine just a few months earlier, so I knew the connection must have been in the back of my mind. My professor's words, "Channeling Wyeth", became the title to make the reference more obvious to others as well- and a nod to the professor's positive impact on my work. I produce my prints right in my home studio in Belmont, NH using a 6-color inkjet printer on matte fine art photography paper. Each is signed by hand on the back and sealed in a clear plastic sleeve with a rigid backing board for the best protection. I can produce prints to order if my supply of materials allows, so if you require a large quantity of prints (perhaps as wedding favors, holiday gifts for extended family, etc.) feel free to contact me.
