Built 100% right here in my shop. Made from solid cherry and maple. 3/4" thick. Squares are 1 1/2". This is a beautiful board. The cherry grain really pops. This is solid hardwood. It is not a MDF board with hardwood veneer. This is built to last a life time with a little bit of care. I sanded the board down to 600 grit. Then applied my own mixture of oils and varnish. Once I am happy with the build up of the finish, I let it cure until fully dry. Then I wax it to make it have that smooth like glass finish. It does not feel like plastic, because my finish soaks into the wood and does not sit on the top like a poly finish. You can almost feel the grain.
