This "mugshot" was taken at the Sheriff's Department in Shelby County, TN on Saturday, October 10, 1970 for Elvis's new Special Deputy Sheriff badge which allowed him to carry a pistol. He was deputized under Sheriff Bill Morris who headed the Sheriff’s Department from 1964-70. Elvis had been an ‘honorary’ deputy for several years. Roy C.
