This large serving bowl is a work of art that is functional as well. I created it on my pottery wheel out of porcelain clay forming this 5" high x 9" across shape. I layered glazes to achieve this stunning design in shades of blue, gray, brown, beige, red and black. Where one glaze was layered over another, you get some beautiful effects, like the halos around some of my squiggles and the starry night sky look where the red meets the blue glaze. This is a glaze combination I call 'Woo Hoo' which you can find in some plates and cups as well. It's beautiful with food in it or as a stand alone piece on your table or counter top. Would look pretty filled with fresh fruit, too. It's very sturdy and can withstand use in the oven, dishwasher and microwave. I have other large bowls in different sizes and colors.
