I would only use these for paper. I put 8 of the squares on the back of a plastic file holder and mounted it to the wall and it fell down within a couple minutes.

I just purchased a pack of the 1/2 pound weight mounting squares for the first time. They do not adhere to the standard, eggshell paint of my office walls. Not for even a moment. I am only trying to hold up printer paper with them, and they are accomplishing 0% of that goal. Would not recommend for anything, at any time. Feel so frustrated I actually was compelled to leave a review, which is not my usual.

Great concept.  Was not very adhesive to a fabric door decoration.  I used 3 pieces and had to purchase additional pieces for the item to stay put.

I use these for everything (that falls within the suggested weight limits)! They've worked for paper, cardstock, and wood, adhering whatever I've mounted until I'm ready to take it down. They've always come off the wall and the mounted object cleanly, never leaving a residue. I've even occasionally reused them. This will always be my "go to" mounting square!
