As a new student learning painting, it was advised to buy the student grade paints.  I have bought many tubes of these.  But, more experienced artists claim the artist quality paints of which Golden brand is one, is really better.  Student paints have fillers and lesser expensive pigments.  They are more watered down.  GOLDEN brand is used by professional artists because of the rich and varied colors, high pigment level (opacity) and luxurious consistency!  With those attributes you actually end up using a bit less than the lower cost student-grade paints.  So glad I've invested in some Golden paints!

The fluid heavy body paints from Golden are incredible for the work that I produce. The paint is thick coming from the tube, but not nearly has heavy body as other paints of similar quality, and what I appreciate, perhaps the most, is that I can feel the heavy texture on the brush. Other than being a more expensive brand, it has become my go-to.
