I was really looking forward to this desk, but when I opened the box, it was a huge disappointment.  The vinyl coating on the desk's surface was full of bubbles and even badly warped in spots where it had bunched up during the application, and since I had picked the white, all of these marks were *extremely* noticeable.  The desk is made out of bamboo which was fine, given it's intended function.  However the wood hadn't been finished in any fashion so when I first set it up I encountered a number of splinters, which would make me concerned about giving this desk to a child. I had purchased this item after black Friday; if the item had been constructed properly so that the vinyl was smooth and the wood had been sanded, or sealed, or something to address the rough edges, I could have justified keeping it at that price point, but the sloppy construction means it ISN'T worth it, so back it goes.  And even a well-constructed version still wouldn't justify its regular price tag.
